Single camera pulse measurement
- Open the single camera measurement flow and allow camera access when iOS asks.
- Place your fingertip over the rear camera and flash. Keep your hand and phone steady with a light, consistent touch.
- Pulser completes this flow after it has collected 30 stable pulse estimates. The time can vary with signal quality; the flow does not promise a fixed number of seconds.
- Pulser then opens a form. Tap Save to store a heart-rate record. Closing the form without saving does not create the formal record.
If the estimate does not stabilize, check that your fingertip covers the camera and flash, keep the device steady, and try again. If the camera does not start, check camera permission in iOS Settings and close another app that may be using the camera.
Resting PPG camera measurement
The separate resting PPG flow needs 60 seconds of continuous valid signal. If contact or signal quality is interrupted, the valid-time counter resets, so the full capture may take longer. Pulser stores a local session with RGB-derived signal samples, results, quality information, device model, and iOS version; it does not save a full image or video file. This mode estimates pulse only. It does not measure blood pressure or blood oxygen.
Bluetooth heart-rate sessions
- Turn on a compatible Bluetooth Heart Rate monitor and keep it nearby.
- Confirm Bluetooth is enabled in iOS Settings and allow Pulser to connect if iOS asks.
- Saved sessions can be reviewed or deleted in Pulser. JSON and CSV export options are available from session details where shown.
Apple Health
Open Settings → Apple Health in Pulser. Choose read and write types separately, then request the selected permissions. You can refresh the selected data, read it again from the beginning, or clear Pulser's local imported cache there. Clearing that cache does not delete the originals in Apple Health. If you delete a Pulser record that was written to Apple Health, manage the Apple Health sample separately in Apple Health.
Export and encrypted backup
Pro export lets you select a date range, categories, sources, and record owners, preview the selection, and create a PDF, CSV, or JSON file. You choose the destination in Apple's share sheet.
Pro encrypted backup asks you to choose and confirm a password. Keep it somewhere safe: Pulser cannot recover a lost password. Backups exclude legacy-store records and imported Apple Health samples, and do not move purchase rights or Health authorization to another device. A file saved to another app or cloud service follows that destination's policies.
For a camera-session feedback package, review the preview before sharing. It shows whether original RGB samples and a formal record are included. Pulser does not send the package automatically; you choose the recipient in Apple's share sheet.
